As the local Parish Church, St Teilo's is available for the Solemnization of Marriages for those who live within the parish boundaries. If you or your partner is resident within the Parish of Caereithin, you are entitled to have your wedding in St Teilo's.

The Christian community believes firmly in the sanctity of marriage and that those who seek to have their marriage solemnized in church believe and accept that the vows the couple make to each other are for life.

We believe marriage to be a lifelong commitment and partnership in which the groom and bride pledge exclusive love and fidelity to each other before God. The bond between those who stand in the presence of God promising lifelong union enjoys the blessing of God. As their relationship moves forward in faithfulness and love, blessings abound!

If a couple accept this understanding of marriage, then we will be delighted to welcome you to St Teilo's for your Wedding and will assist you in your planning and preparation so as to ensure that all goes well on the great day itself. Please feel free to contact us if you would like further assistance with your enquiry.

Can I get married in St Teilo's if I am divorced?

The Church in Wales makes provision for those who are divorced and who find themselves in a loving relationship once again and wish to have their marriage blessed by the Church. Following the Church's guidelines, and ensuring that the couple meet the necessary requirements, they can get married in our church.

We had our wedding in the Registry Office, can we have it blessed in Church?

Couples may wish to have their wedding in the Registry Office because it best suits the situation in their families. However the couple themselves may wish to have their wedding blessed in the church because they believe that it is important to add the faith dimension to their vows. We will be delighted to help you with this and will assist you in preparing a Service that is suitable for the occasion.
