The communities of Blaenymaes, Penlplas and Portmead are a designated Community First Area and fall within the programme outlined above.

The Trust promotes community regeneration by working in partnership with the Voluntary, Public and Private sectors, the Trust help secure appropriate and integrated solutions to local issues.

The partnership is made-up of organisations working with the Trust to promote Community Regeneration and to tackle social exclusion. To take forward the vision at the heart of the Communities First Programme.

The Parish of Caereithin encompasses the communities of Blaenymaes, Penplas and Portmead and is an active partner of the BPP Development Trust. The members of St Teilo’s Parish Church are actively engaged, at various levels, in helping the BPP Trust fulfil its purpose within this Community First Area.

As well as seeking to provide spiritual care for the families who live within this area, St Teilo’s is also active in supporting and partnering various projects that have been established in order to empower residents to face the challenges that have accrued as a result of depravation.
